WWE TLC 2018: Ratings, Implications & Beyond

The Intercontinental Title Scene seems more interesting than the Universal Title

The crowing of Dean Ambrose as the new WWE Intercontinental Champion at WWE TLC 2018 finally marks the exit of Seth Rollins from the mid-card title picture, and also creates a plethora of opportunities for new contenders to step in. The list of potential challengers include:

  • Finn Balor
  • Elias
  • Bray Wyatt
  • Kevin Owens
  • Sami Zayn

A match-up between Ambrose and either of the five makes sense for the title, but considering Ambrose has already had a long rivalry against Bray Wyatt, it would be logical to have one of the remaining four step up and challenge Ambrose at WrestleMania.

I personally believe WWE should be moving ahead with Finn Balor, considering his push in the New Era initiated by the McMahons. Then again, WWE could just book all six in a ladder match, which should also be interesting.Owens and Sayn make less sense, however, given that it was Lashley who kayfabe injured Kevin Owens. Hence, Owens should be resuming his rivalry with Lashley once he returns.

WrestleMania Prediction:

  • Dean Ambrose vs. Finn Balor – WWE Intercontinental Championship
