Match 1: The Bar © vs. Shane McMahon & The Miz – SmackDown Tag Team Championship
The Miz and Shane McMahon have been involved in an unlikely duo storyline ever since the Crown Jewel PPV, with both claiming a share at the WWE World Cup trophy. Even though it gives The Miz something to stay relevant, it still doesn’t feel like the right direction for him. Shane McMahon, being a non-wrestler in his 40s fighting for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, is not ideal opposition in today’s era.
There are many other superstars waiting for that kind of opportunity. I would have really liked to see The Miz paired with EC3 instead of Shane. In any case, this feud has been more about Miz and McMahon than Miz & McMahon vs. The Bar. The Bar has been playing a supporting role, possibly to push this feud forward.
Who should win the match? I really don’t want to see The Bar’s title reign end against Shane. The Bar should win this match after some miscommunication between The Miz & Shane.
Prediction: Shane McMahon takes the fall and The Bar retains. This leads to some argument between The Miz & Shane and sets up a potential WrestleMania match between the two.
Match Rating Prediction: 1.75 out of 5 – Meh. I don’t expect Shane to pull out a thriller here. It’ll have more drama than actual wrestling.
