WWE TLC 2018: Preview and Predictions

6. Braun Strowman vs Baron Corbin – Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match

  • If Braun wins, he gets a Universal Title shot against Brock Lesnar at Royal Rumble.
  • If Corbin wins, he becomes the permanent General Manager of RAW.

I understand what is at stake for Strowman & Corbin – however, I fail to understand why the creative team would book it as a TLC match? Strowman and Corbin are both behemoths who don’t do justice to this stipulation. When was the last time either of the two climbed a turnbuckle? Why would you incorporate ladders in this? It would have made more sense with just tables or chairs involved.

This rivalry has just been poorly booked from the get-go and much of the credit goes to the mismanagement of Strowman’s character. Braun has turned from a baby-face to heel and back to baby-face within a span of two months and we must not discount his squash against Brock Lesnar, which completely killed off the monster aura he had developed.

Who needs the victory more: Braun Strowman needs it more because of his terrible booking in recent months, while Corbin can always rebound from a loss.

Prediction: Braun Strowman wins this match via pin-fall after hitting a Running Power-slam to Corbin through the table.

Match Rating Prediction: 2.75 out of 5 – I expect Strowman and Corbin to break a few tables at WWE TLC. The pace of the match should be slower though.

What if Braun Strowman isn’t cleared? Expect Bray Wyatt to return and take his spot. This would automatically make the match a lot more interesting, especially because Bray Wyatt is in desperate need of a big victory to bring him into the spotlight. The match would be better in terms of quality with Wyatt involved. Expect Bray Wyatt to win if he does replace Strowman.
