8. Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio – Chairs Match
This rivalry is booked with very simple storytelling. Randy Orton is targetting WWE’s legends and fan-favourites to continue building heat for his character. On the other hand, Rey Mysterio has just returned to the WWE and wants to rekindle his depleted popularity.
Even though I suspected this would turn out to be a Hair vs. Mask match, the WWE has booked a Chairs Match between the two – potentially leaving the other stipulation for a later date.
Who needs the victory more: Rey Mysterio hasn’t done much since his return and subsequently needs the victory more at WWE TLC.
Prediction: Rey Mysterio wins via pin-fall.
Match Rating Prediction: 3 out of 5. This could go either way, ending up as one of the finest matches on the card or as a total dud. I don’t see WWE giving it much time to tell a story because of the focus on other storylines and hence, it should only be slightly above average. Besides, we’ve seen Orton vs. Rey quite a few times in the past.
